Meredith & Melanie OTF Weston BC Fundraiser

I am a two year breast cancer survivor. I'm sure like many other women I feel that I was dealt a BAD hand, to say the least.  After a bilateral mastectomy, due to invasive lobular carcinoma, and months of recovery and physical therapy, I continue to try to make the best of a BAD situation.  While my journey continues with monthly injections and medication, I want to give back and support my fellow pink warriors! This year, I will be donating to the Memorial Foundation, Pink Angels. The Pink Angels help Breast Cancer Patients in many ways (wigs, Lymphedema sleeves, IVF programs, etc). My friends, family & OTF Weston have been my biggest supporters, and I can't thank you enough! Meredith Lauria

My name is Melanie and as soon as I turned 40 my doctor sent me for a mammogram. That's when I found out I had ductal carcinoma.  I had options of a lumpectomy and radiation.  I also had the choice of a double mastectomy.  I chose the mastectomy so I wouldn't have radiation.  I've had three surgeries in total and I am cancer free!

Mel & I both had our treatments at Memorial hospital.  Together with our BC Sisters we support one another and all women in this ongoing search for a cure!
