Tali and Noa's Mitzvah Project

Becoming a Bat Mitzvah is special, not just because it marks a milestone in our Jewish lives, but also because it deepens our understanding of tikkun olam – the concept of repairing the world through acts of kindness and giving back.
One of our earliest memories of this was when we were around 3 or 4 years old. We went to the kosher pantry to donate food for Pesach. While we were there we spent time sorting the food so it could be given away to those in need. The woman who helped us to organize everything told us that many Jewish people would be able to enjoy a Passover meal because of our work.
This memory got us thinking about how we could repeat this gift in some way for our Mitzvah project.
Our mom met a woman named Ann Horowitz when she was working at Memorial. She was battling many types of cancer - breast, lung, and even brain, and our mom would tell us about how she would sit for hours during her treatments and read special prayers that she printed out on paper. She also told us that sometimes Ann would forget to bring a snack, and her options were limited at the hospital.
We have decided we would like to raise money to create a kosher snack program at Memorial Cancer Institute. We love this idea because we want people who struggle with cancer to be as comfortable as they can be, without the additional burden of finding kosher options during an already difficult time.
Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to help us get this program off the ground. After our B'not Mitzvah on March 30, 2025, we will work with the team at Memorial Cancer Institute to order and deliver the first round of snacks to their respective locations in Hallandale, Memorial Hospital West and Memorial Regional Hospital for the patients to enjoy.
