Jorge O. Di Campli, 85, passed away on July 26th, 2019 while staying in Hollywood, Florida after fighting his MDS condition for the last 4 and a half years.

He was born on August 9th, 1933 in Buenos Aires , Argentina . He spent most of his life there until retirement in 1995 , when he started to spend short stays between Buenos Aires , Mar del Plata and US together with his wife, Lia, his sole partner for the last 52 years.

During his career, Jorge devoted more than 40 years on public utlities in Buenos Aires. He was king to find sources of potable water and disposed waste the most eco friendly manner .

Jorge was a real fighter on all aspects of his life . When diagnosed with terminal illness, he decided to look for alternatives to his disease until his last days. His rationale was that his results were to help the doctors to get better insights to look for a final cure.

In every ocassion, Jorge always stood out in any group because of his funny and sometimes controvertial comments and other times not politically correct, but always very geninue and spoke from the heart. 

Jorge was very generous and always looking to help others. He was passionate about collecting philatelic goods and joined the Hollywood Stamp Club in 2005 and few other similar associations back in Argentina.

Jorge leaves behind his wife Lía , son Osvaldo, brother Horacio, daughter in law Catalina, and three grandchildren Luciana, Lucas and Sofia

We are very thankful for all the support received by both institutions who supported my father, the University of Miami Sylvester Cancer Institute and later the Moffit Memorial Cancer Institute, together with all their staff.

In lieu of flowers, we are collecting donations to help the Bone Marrow Transplant - a division of the Memorial Cancer Institute, in order to continue supporting the cancer treatment.
