Catch the Love!!
In honor of the big 4-0, I'm raising funds for something near and dear to my heart - Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital Foundation.
Yes, I work for Memorial Healthcare System at the Foundations. Yes, every day I witness quality, compassionate healthcare being given to everyone who walks through our doors - regardless of their ability to pay. Yes, every day I get to experience the the real Power of Play - whether it's through our resident clown, Lotsy Dotsy's, "magical" bubbles that can turn any child's tears into giggles, or our furry canine friend, Nutmeg's, ability to calm a nervous patient. But I am also choosing to donate with this organization specifically as my family has had personal experiences with Memorial Healthcare System and can truly attest that Memorial delivers on its promise to provde first-class healthcare through hands that heal and hearts that care.
Both of our sons have had minor procedures done at Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital. Each time the staff, nurses and physicians did an excellent job helping make the experience the best possible experience it could be for the boys and Kyle and me, given the circumstances. Most recently, our daughter was born at Memorial Hospital West -- the birthing experience was so wonderful we wondered why we didn't deliver our other two children here! Last but certainly not least, two years ago, God called home our littlest angel at just 10 weeks pregnant and I had to be hospitalized at Memorial West. I was an emotional wreck. The team at West was caring and compassionate and did everything they could to help heal me - not just physically, but emotionally. And it is that which made all the difference.
Memorial Healthcare System is more than just a hospital district. It is a community of physicians, nurses, administrative staff, and tons of other people who have been chosen to work here to provide quality healthcare for the mind, body and spirit, to those who need it the most. The culture at Memorial is one that is caring, compassionate and mindful of all of the lives that are touched. The programs and services that are offered are nothing short of amazing. All of the phenomenal things the System offers, from our top-notch pediatric oncology unit to our pediatric heart transplant program, from our numerous community outreach initiatives such as our mobile health unit and mammography screenings, to our Conine Clubhouse and Memorial Manor, couldn't be possible without YOU!
So join me today, on the anniversary of my father's passing just four years ago, in anticipation of my 40th birthday in a couple of weeks, and in honor of our littlest angel and all of the angels watching over all of us, in supporting Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital as we expand another four floors and Catch the Love! And, if you would like to take a tour, volunteer, or learn more about the amazing things we are doing in our community, let me know! God bless you all!
